‘Support Ongoing ECI-UBI 2020/21/22’ Working Group

The aim of the Working Group is to increase the visibility of and participation in the ongoing ECI-UBI campaign, and use it to promote Unconditional Basic Income.

The aim of the ongoing ECI-UBI is the introduction of Unconditional Basic Incomes (UBI) throughout the EU which insures every person’s material existence and opportunity to participate in society – with Unconditional Basic Incomes. There are two criteria for a successful ECI:
– until the 25th of March, 2022, there should be at least one million signatures supporting this campaign and
– at least at seven EU Member States the quota (threshold) expectations of the ECI should be fulfilled.

Accordingly, the aim of ‘Support Ongoing ECI-UBI 2020/21/22’ Working Group will be to give support to this campaign through its members. The Working Group will try to maximize the communication, and collaboration possibilities between the ECI-UBI Team (Citizens Committee for ECI-UBI, ECI-UBI Coordination Team and ECI-UBI National Coordinators) and the members of UBIE. In the framework of these efforts, UBIE members will be kindly requested to communicate, collaborate and contribute to the ECI-UBI campaign via the ECI-UBI National Coordinators from their home countries.

The target of the ECI-UBI 2020/21/22 is, at tactical level, to be a successful ECI Campaign, and at strategic level, to contribute to the implementation of the UBI in the EU Member States.

Accordingly, the goal of the Working Group will be to give full support to the above mentioned efforts of the ECI-UBI Team. At the end of the day, the implementation of UBI is also the inherent goal of UBIE.
